The current Board is looking for members to join and, after this season, replace the current board.  We need both officers and regular Board members.This will be our fifth year on the Board and we would like to step down and let some new people with fresh ideas come forward.. .
We need members with new ideas for fundraising, day to day operations, etc. We need to sign up new members to keep enough funds coming in to keep the pool open another year or two. Our pool is situated on beautiful grounds with great trees and views and in summer is a major hub of activity in the neighborhood.Students can earn required volunteer hours by helping out at the pool
The costs associated with running the pool consistently surpass the income. The average seasonal cost can run from $30,000-40,000 with membership income running at an average of 15,000-17,000; declining every year as the neighborhood demographics change.  We have been able to operate off the funds from the sale of a large portion of the parking lot years ago but the funds are now dwindling and we have to find other ways to increase our income through membership drives and other fund raising opportunities which are currently being researched. Without additional income the pool may not survive too much longer. This problem is not exclusive to Oakview; other community pools - Other neighborhood pools are experiencing the same poblems we are.
